ROLEX: The Legend in Swiss watchmaking

Rolex, a legendary name in the watchmaking industry, boasts a rich history dating back to its inception in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law Alfred Davis. Initially based in London, the company originally operated under the name "Wilsdorf & Davis." The quest for precision and innovation has been at the core of Rolex's philosophy since its early days.

In 1910, Rolex obtained the first-ever Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision, marking the beginning of its commitment to accuracy. By 1926, Rolex achieved another milestone with the introduction of the Oyster, the world's first waterproof and dustproof wristwatch, thanks to its patented case design. This innovation revolutionized the watch industry, setting a new standard for reliability.

The 1930s witnessed Rolex's pioneering spirit with the development of the Perpetual rotor mechanism, which enabled self-winding movements in wristwatches. This innovation laid the groundwork for modern automatic watches and solidified Rolex's reputation for technical excellence.

Throughout the mid-20th century, Rolex continued to innovate, introducing iconic models such as the Submariner (1953), the first dive watch water-resistant to 100 meters, and the GMT-Master (1955), designed for professional pilots and world travelers. In 1960, Rolex's commitment to exploration reached new heights when a specially designed Rolex Deep Sea Special accompanied the Bathyscaphe Trieste to the deepest point on Earth, the Mariana Trench.
