The story of Van Cleef & Arpels began in 1895 with the marriage of Estelle Arpels, daughter of a diamond dealer, to Alfred Van Cleef, a stone cutter and diamond broker. Their union not only brought two families together but also laid the foundation for a legendary jewelry house.

The early years saw Van Cleef & Arpels establish themselves in Paris, a hub for luxury craftsmanship. They quickly gained recognition for their innovative designs and exceptional quality. Inspired by nature and Art Deco influences, Van Cleef & Arpels incorporated vibrant gemstones and bold motifs into their creations.

In 1906 Van Cleef & Arpels opened its first boutique on the prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris. This strategic location solidified their position within the world of luxury and brought them face-to-face with a discerning clientele.

In the 1920s, they entered into the world of watchmaking, creating timepieces that blurred the line between jewelry and function. Their signature Alhambra collection, featuring a four-leaf clover motif, debuted in 1968 and became an instant icon.
