The History of H. Moser & Cie
The history of H. Moser & Cie. can be traced back to 1828, when Heinrich Moser founded a watch workshop in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Moser was a skilled watchmaker, and his watches quickly gained a reputation for their high quality and craftsmanship.
In 1848, Moser moved his workshop to Le Locle, Switzerland. He continued to produce high-quality watches, and he also began to experiment with new designs and technologies. For example, Moser was one of the first watchmakers to use interchangeable parts in his watches.
In 1878, Moser died, but his company continued to operate under the leadership of his sons.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the Swiss watch industry was hit by a crisis due to the quartz revolution. H. Moser & Cie. was one of the many companies that were forced to close.
In 2002, the Meylan family acquired H. Moser & Cie. The Meylan family is a well-known family of watchmakers, and they have helped to revive H. Moser & Cie. into one of the leading luxury watch brands in the world.
